CCEA hosts roundtable discussion on education
Community leaders, parents, and teachers take part in conversation
On Thursday, February 2, the Clark County Education Association hosted a roundtable discussion on public education. The conversation kicked off with a presentation of the Growth Model from a teacher’s perspective. The presentation was conducted by active and retired teachers -- Dr. Chris Leakas, Ann Moody, Erik Smith, Paul Feaker, and Carolyn Stewart -- members of the CCEA Growth Model Task Force.

Ready to take the message to the public were reporters from channels 8, 13, and Univision, as well as Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun. CCEA President Ruben Murillo, flanked by a group of teachers and community members, unveiled the results of a recent study that analyzed the school district’s budget.

Early Transfer Period** February 6 through February 24, 2012 **
The early transfer period for Title 1 and At-Risk schools will be held from February 6 through February 24, 2012. If implemented, according to the Negotiated Agreement between the Clark County School District and the Clark County Education Association, under the provision of Article 35-2-1, this transfer shall apply only to those vacancies existing in the Title I and At-Risk schools. A list identifying the 2012 Title I and At-Risk schools according to their Area Service Center may be accessed through the links below.
