Proposed Language Finalized
Contract language is now available for member review
The CCEA Negotiations Team met with CCSD representatives on Friday, May 14 to finalize the proposed contract language. Following is a summary of those language changes. To review the entire language, please click on the individual link. Blue represents new language, red is deleted language.
TEACHER ADVISORY COUNCIL (ARTICLE 10):
* Teachers shall not be asked or encouraged to purchase classroom supplies with their own personal funds
* Provides option of adding School Governance Team to align with Empowerment model, i.e. encourages collaboration/empowerment between administrators and teachers (Does not take away TAC)
* The school district will make every effort to conduct the Teaching and Learning Conditions Survey on a staff development day
* Principals must put forth every effort to provide teachers with a block of 3.5 hours, without meetings, before classes begin to set-up classroom/work area
PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION (ARTICLE 26):
* For the 2010-2011 school year ONLY, there will be no advancement on the salary schedule for the additional year of experience (does not include educational increments)
* Outlines procedures for transfer, surplus, resignation, reduction in force, etc. for Shared and Half-Time Contracts
PREPARATION PERIODS (ARTICLE 31):
* District cannot take more than 4 preparation periods per school year with at least 48 hour notice
* At least 10 minutes left for use at teacher’s discretion
* District directed preparation periods taken beyond 4 shall be paid at teacher's daily rate of pay
TWENTY-DAY RULE (ARTICLE 14 & 36):
* Clarifies that a separate document must be given within 20 days for an unsatisfactory evaluation or direction for change
* Notice of investigatory meeting or notice of on-going investigation does not constitute required written (separate document)
NEW JOINT COMMITTEES (ARTICLE 34):
* Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education to deal with issues in those areas
TRANSFER (ARTICLE 35):
* Deletes the two year requirement to remain in a school before seeking transfer
* Provides that assignments be given by April 1 for the ensuing school year
* One voluntary transfer per school year
EXTRA PAY FOR DUTY SCHEDULE (ARTICLE 37):
* Homebound instruction and instructional and evaluative services required by IDEA will be paid at the Teacher’s Contract Hourly Rate of Pay
* Provides May 1 deadline to submit waiver for following year
* Clarifies that waiver is only for one year
